Communicating to someone that they have a limited number of days to live is never easy in any form or style of communication, but the existential therapy makes it a little more empathetic and that is why it could be a preferred method chosen. This therapy has the potential to understand the capacities and limitations that people have and then explore a person on the basis of those and connecting it to the larger meanings of life. Considering the approach, the first step that i would initiate would be to understand the person and their thoughts regarding the concepts of life and death. Once that is done and there is an open and comfortable space between me and the patient, I would move on to tell him or her about the current situation, and then discuss with them the possibilities they have and how it is not the end just now.
