Q Week 4 - Chapter 6 Discussion Question:
Compare and contrast a closed internal recruitment system with an open internal recruitment system. Which one would you prefer, why or why not?
Companies hire employees according to their needs and professional requirements. This is the very criteria determining the method of recruitment to be employed by the companies. A fundamental difference between the closed and open internal recruitment system is the number of employees within an organization informed of the possible vacancies and promotion opportunities, and it is completely dependent upon the management. For that matter, in closed internal recruitment, the employers decide to keep the process more restrictive and pass on the list of required members within the organization who would be assigned the new roles in the organization (Heneman et al., 2003).
