Individual pursuit of wealth cannot be regarded as greed as it is important to understand wealth as a crucial resource propelling self-actualization and augmenting one’s life chances. This procurement of wealth can be positively seen against the backdrop of success and prosperity and should not necessarily be accompanied by pejorative connotations. Moreover, the benefits which accrue to him are naturally advantageous for the society too as he functions as one of the embedded entities of the social milieu. As Adam Smith asserted that “every individual continually exerting himself to find out the most advantageous employment ... But the study of his own advantage naturally, or rather necessarily, leads him to prefer that employment which is most advantageous to the society”.
