“Leadership has been described as the behavior of an individual when directing the activities of a group toward a shared goal” (Al-Sawai, 2013). As most of theories regarding leadership are related to the profit of the company and healthcare being a service industry finds it a bit difficult to establish a clear idea about leadership. The theory of leadership in healthcare organization is ever changing and the organization has to maintain pace with it. The foundation of leadership should be strong enough so that the other ideas can be built on it. The leaders of a healthcare organization must be aware of some basic concepts of the organization like mission, vision etc.
