Q Introduction Find an example of a Native American Stereotype that has to do in some way with the environment or land use- wild, wilderness, savage, barbarian, fierce aggressive....But also peaceful, happy, pure, bountiful, open, wise, Eden-like...these two ideas of wild may or may not overlap. • Make sure you are able to connect this stereotype to one or more of the stereotypes discussed in the week 1 lecture materials. The stereotype could be an example from the internet, a commercial product in your local store, a show on the television, a movie or song, or in a book or article. These stereotypes are everywhere. Do not send in one of the obvious sports teams, or one used as an example in the class lecture. Also, try to find a modern example. If you choose and older example, put the date on it. Examples from the 19th and early 20th century or the 1950s or 60s are different from modern ones. What do you think the image is trying to get across? (Most of these are commercial but not all.)
