Project 3-Urban Anthropology

Q This assignment entails talking to real people about their lived experiences. The following are some of the questions that you can focus on while conducting your interviews: ? How long have your interlocutors lived on the block (or in the neighborhood)? Did they live in other parts of New York City before moving to the current residence? If so, how do they compare their own experiences of living in different parts of the city? ? What changes have they observed in their current neighborhood since they lived there? ? What do they see as the block’s (or neighborhood’s) greatest problems? ? What do they see as the block’s (or neighborhood’s) greatest assets? To complete the assignment, you will write a 1-2 page single-spaced paper in which you draw on course readings and discussions to report on your interview findings

There were two interviews conducted within the neighborhood to identify a better understanding of the overall experiences of the people within the community. There were few questions asked by the person and it was understood that the neighbors were living in the block since their childhood. Both of them said that they never lived in any other parts of New York City and were living in the same residence since childhood. As I have mentioned earlier, the community I live in is very old and so I could understand as even my parents have been living since many years.
