Q For MGR #3 (means of grace), make sure that you have first done the assigned readings, which includes Jung's chapter plus your choice of one reading on Prayer. After reading these chapters, view the corresponding video in the daily schedule. (You may have already done this on the day you studied Prayer.) Prayer exercise: For this means of grace, spend one hour in prayer. You may order your hour as you prefer, but here is one suggestion: Have you ever prayed according to ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication)? You might consider trying this, but with a twist: spend the first 10 minutes or so only praying ACT, leaving off the S. After this, you should definitely allow yourself to move to a time of Supplication, but it would be interesting to reflect on what this exercise (leaving off the S at first) may have revealed about your relationship with God. Of course God wants us to pray for others and to bring requests before him, growing a dependence on him and his ways, but if supplication becomes more characteristic of our prayers than anything else, our view of Who God is and what He wants done, can be greatly distorted. After your exercise of Prayer, write a one-page reflection chronicling your experience. Remember to identify Jung's chapter and the one additional author read at the top of your paper.
