Q Think about the theories discussed in our readings up to this point. What are steps that you would take to motivate change and overcome resistance to change in your organization?
Change is an inevitable reality of the workplace but a majority of the employee view change in its negative context. They want to remain in the familiar setting which though unproductive or efficient is familiar to them. Familiarity is comfortable. However, with changing times a minimum degree of change is bound to happen. Leaders have the duty to make their employees ready for this change procedures. “… the best way to help change work is for leaders to increase the amount of influence and involvement of the people being asked to change” (Blanchard, 2010).
