The word sex is essentially biological, no one really chooses it, and gender is what society makes one identify with, which often can be chosen. Whether someone will be born a man or a woman, is not much in anyone’s hand, but whether or not they will act like a man or a woman, or identifies themselves as one, depends a lot on the psychological process. A person born as a man may not feel masculine and could want to be a woman instead because that is what comfort is for them. Most people do not understand the difference between sex and gender, which is why society makes it mandatory to fit into the molds of a male or a female, the gender norms.
