Q Post a draft of your 3-part Current Event Paper Introduction (Event Hook, Issue and Background, and Statement of the Problem). Please add an informal outline after your 3-part introduction. Please note that this introduction is probably different than ones you have written before, and it is okay that it is on the longer side. You are really introducing an event, topic, and background information. Use the examples and structure and you’ll be fine. After you post your 3-part introduction, please respond to at least two of your peers. Answer the following questions in each peer response: 1. What do you like about the introduction? 2. What do you think needs to be reviewed and possible revised? 3. What suggestions do you have for your peer? How to give good peer feedback:Play media comment. You will receive a grade based on the attached rubric. Statement of Problem Help.docxDownload Statement of Problem Help.docx Remember, this is the structure you are working with for this paper: Three Part Introduction: 1. Event Hook – Describe the specific current event you are researching. Give event details. (1 paragraph) 2. Issue and Background – What issue is at the core of this current event? This paragraph may include definitions and historical background information, as needed. (1-2 paragraphs) 3. Statement of the Problem – After describing the current event and the core issue present, you will need to articulate the problem. The various sides/viewpoints of the issue should be presented. This paragraph should also reinforce that this is a current and relevant issue. The thesis statement will be last sentence of this section. It should not include your stance on the issue, rather an exploration of viewpoints (there may be more than two). Your stance will come in the final part of the paper, after you provide a full exploration of the issues. Body of Paper: Exploration of Viewpoints – This will make up a large portion of the paper. Each viewpoint should be given 2-3 paragraphs of exploration. You should explore at least two viewpoints; however, you may have more depending on your topic. Each stance should have a source summarized and analyzed. Consider the Summary Response Paragraph Exercise document as you work on your paragraphs. (Paragraph length will vary depending on the number of viewpoints examined.) Conclusion: This is where you offer your viewpoint and response to the event. You should provide a problem solution, recommendation, proposal, or plan. You may want to consider compromise with in your conclusion. Your conclusion should be specific and include your own thoughts. (1-2 paragraphs)

Two severe winter storms swept across the United States one on February 10 and the other on February 13th. Some states are prepared for these weather conditions while some are not. For Texas, snowfall totals between 2-10 inches were devastating due to rarely having snow down south. Due to the disaster, millions of people all over Texas lost power and electricity, pipes froze, stores supplies decreased, safety shelters were overflowing as well as there were many lives lost. At this moment of crisis, to make matters worse, the Senator, Ted Cruz, decided to go on vacation. In his absence, the residents and the rest of the U.S. labeled his actions to be morally wrong because as a senator it is his job to help his people.
