Japan has implemented new laws according to the article which allows them to spy on the phone calls, e-mails, faxes etc. in order to investigate about the serious crimes related to drugs and other organized crimes (Williams, 2000). In order to track the organized crimes better the Japan government decided to give the police the authority to track the phone calls and other personal devices of the suspects. The main legislative concern about this is that it can go against the people privacy rights as most of the citizens of Japan feel like the government is intruding in their privacy.
