Chapter three discusses how the film industry developed over the years through social and economic transformations. Interestingly, the development of the film industry began during the late 19th century when the term “yellow journalism” became popular for using journalism as a form of entertainment by adding up imaginary stories to make the news seem more interesting to the audience (p. 27). The chapter mainly discusses how films became one of the main forms of mass entertainment through social and economic development and growth. By the first half of the 20th century, there were increasing numbers of theatres all over the world such as Germany and Britain (p. 30). By 1913, there were 60,000 theatres all over the world
