Young adult literature focuses majorly on teens that are just building relationships for life. In this developmental stage, a large number of literary books tend to focus on building self and societal relationships by creating roles accordingly. Young adult literature writers, whose works focus on the young adult audience, write more on friendship because of the need to develop self-perception and enable readers to build power relations that upgrade resilience and identity in society. This is a positive perspective as readers at this age spend more time reading books. Stressing on friendship in young adult literature nurtures and inspires readers to build relationships and use them rightly during moments of loneliness.
