Debate 3

Q The Topic for Debate 3 is: Have unions become obsolete, or do they need to be restructured/reformed? Team 1 is Arguing that they have become obsolete (perhaps something new in its place?) Team 2 is Arguing that unions are still needed, but need to be restructured/reformed (who might do this?) Inside the parenthesis are suggestions for your research, you do not need to use these suggestions for your arguments. Audience: Be aware of both sides of the argument, though approach the argument with an open mind. Also, make sure to have strategies and fallacies available to better help the arguments and offer constructive criticism. After the debate, everyone will answer these Debate Response Questions: 1. What was your opinion before the debate? 2. Did your opinion change? Why or why not? 3. What research did you do? 4. What stood out during the debate? 5. What could be improved for the next debate? ENGL 205 1. What was your opinion before the debate? I believe unions are a very important part of our country. Unions are amazing because they truly take care of their workers. Great pay in any field you’re in, great benefits, the list goes on. 2. Did your opinion change? Wasn’t there for the actual debate. 3. What research did you do? I looked at a few articles online to just get a feel of what it was.
