The whole person approach is basically the idea of taking the whole rather than a part as it gives a bigger view of the total image. This is the total opposite of the reductionist point of view which stresses on the fact that narrowing down an idea would be better to understand the total fact as the bigger picture might complicate things. This approach focuses on the emotions and spirits of a person along with his or her body to get better understanding of a disease (Rosenthal & Lisi, 2014, p. 3).
