Q Controls & Displays • Identify a design problem in a control or display - not just something you wish was different. It needs to be the point of interaction between a machine and a human, as with switches and monitors. • Address which of the "General Rules of Good Design" addressed in the notes above, that your example violates. • Propose a fix for the design problem you identified. • You will need to thoroughly describe the object and process as it is, then how you would change it to make it better fit the design principles provided above. • I have set this discussion board up so that you can have file attachments, in case you want to include digital pictures to aid your descriptions. (try to size your digital pictures so they are under 300 KB) • You probably don't have to look far to find examples. Good sources are in the kitchen and car. • Come up with an original example, not something addressed in the class notes or links.
