We know that knowledge is power and there the purpose of education can very much be to make us powerful. But the meaning of powerful is deep in this context. Here being powerful, being responsible; being powerful means being kind, being powerful also means to be a good citizen of the world. So, there is no singular purpose of education. Education is tool by which young minds can be shaped so that they can be proper and productive members of the society. It can also be said that education has four definite purposes namely academic, political, civic and economic. The purpose of education is also to make people aware about the right and wrong that is going on the society and adequately raise their voice against the wrong. Education does not merely mean some degrees, rather education is the development of the moral compass, the ethical balance and the decision-making abilities for the betterment of self as well as society and community as a whole (Biesta, 2009).
