“Feminism is the radical notion that women are people”, written by writer and editor Marie Shear in 1986. This powerful movement in other words is a commitment to achieving the equality of the sexes. The social movement that feminism encompasses has a variety of political tendencies. The three main types of feminism are socialist, reformist, and radical/separatist. Socialist Feminism follows the oppression of inequalities that have developed in connection with the class system of private property. This particular group also seeks to eliminate the capitalist system and replace it with socialism which shares the wealth created by human labor and has no bearing on maintaining economic exploitation.
