Marital status is associated with whether a person is depressed or not, with the married doing better than the other groups of never married, divorced, or widowed. This conclusion is derived from the research focusing on whether there is any relationship between marital status and depression. Using a sample of N=61, from data extracted from the GSS website on the two variables, we find that married couples experience less depression than the other groups. The research utilized the Chi-square test to determine whether there is a significant association between marital status and depression.
