5.3 Collaborate on Software Learning Project (Group Draft) Draft 2 Discussion

Q Click on this discussion forum, find your group's breakout discussion thread (Toggl Trak, Google Keep, Google Calendar, ZOOM, Microsoft Teams.), and do the following: 1. Post your individual Software Learning Initiative Draft 1 (5.2) and two usability test questions that you would like the rest of the class to answer about your document next week for a usability test/peer review. For example, "What steps were unclear to you as you were following our instructions?" Refrain from asking yes/no questions in your usability test questions because they will not give you any useful feedback for revision. Instead, ask what, why, and how questions. 2. Respond to your own group-mates' individual drafts and provide suggestions (you will not look at other groups' drafts yet - that's for next week). What elements of each of your drafts would be best in the next draft, which will be a group draft (Draft 2)? For example, "Joe's screenshots and numbered steps are easy for users to follow and Jane's descriptions of the Sharing feature are very clear. I also like the style and format that I used in my instructions and suggest we use it in our group draft." After your group members have completed the two steps above, your instructor will email each group with directions for finding your group's breakout discussion forum in D2L, where you can prepare the group-created Draft 2 and Final Draft of these instructions in the next two weeks. You are also welcome to collaborate with your group via email, phone, or using the very software for which you are writing instructions (since they are great for collaboration)! You will also need to talk with your group members to decide on who will complete responsibilities such as: • compiling your individual drafts and suggestions for Draft 2 • editing, proofing, and formatting Draft 2 • writing up the Usability Test questionnaire • revising Draft 2 for Final Draft • editing, proofreading, formatting Final Draft You will also need to decide on (or volunteer to be) a leader who will keep track of who is doing what, send out deadlines and reminders to the team, redistribute work as needed, and post Draft 2, the Usability Test Questionnaire, and Final Draft to the main Discussion Forum in the next two weeks. Finally, note that you will complete an assessment of each other's contributions in your individually written report on the project at the end of Module 7 - this is where your learning, responsibilities, and contributions will be clear to your instructor.
