The Harappan society consisted of the Indus people who settled in northwestern regions of South Asia. In this region, they had no leaders or gods to be worshipped, as in the case of the societies learned in chapters 1, 2, and 3, such as the Israelites, the Mesopotamians, the Sumerians, or the Assyrians. The Harappan community had no rulers or emperors to guide them, but uniquely enough, they had no violence, wars between them, or battles in their territories. Another unique feature of the Harappan society is its investment in developing urban centers. Mohenjodaro is the most well-known site of the Harappan Civilization.
