In this set of notes, we discussed the importance of completing an external analysis on the Macroenvironment or what I like to call the Drivers Of Change. These factors are variables which our outside of a business owner’s control. However, changes in the trends of these variables will cause changes which will impact your organization and opportunities. Thus, while you may not be able to control or stop the change from happening, you can anticipate the change by analyzing trends in the variables. And, by getting an early jump on changes needed, you can identify new opportunities or your organization can adapt quicker and get ahead of your competition. In the Table that follows, please complete the following steps: a. Please identify at least five of the seven Drivers of Change discussed in the notes. b. For each Driver, please identify at least one trend occurring in that variable. c. For each trend, please identify a product, company, or industry that will have an opportunity because of the trend. (Note: please provide a short discussion why this product, company or industry will be positively impacted by the trend you identified). d. For each trend, please identify a product, company, or industry that will be threatened by the trend you identified. Note: again, please provide a short discussion why this product, company, or industry will be threatened by the trend you identified). For your convenience, I have provided an example. You can reuse the Driver provided in the example but you must identify a different key trend. Also, do not let the size of this table limit your discussion. You may wish to use a separate page.
