Q Compare the treatment of Jews and African Americans under the Jim Crow laws. Why the relations of African Americans and Jewish Americans receive so much scrutiny?
The Jim Crow Laws established around 1870’s in the South of USA, were a set of laws that established racial segregation between ‘whites’ and other ‘colored people’. However the effect of these laws was mainly felt in the African American community. These laws established segregation of the Blacks from Whites in public transportation, theatres, restaurants, schools and even drinking fountains (Urofsky, n.d.)All this was done in an attempt to establish the superiority of the white race.
