After watching the YouTube video on police Chief Abbot’s opinion regarding the death penalty, I understand what he is presenting. I understand for some murder victim families, the death of the murderer doesn’t bring any closure; And so, Abbot proves a good point, not only does the murderer have to deal with what they have done but their family as well. Some families deal with months if not years of waiting for their loved one to be executed. With that said, we must also think about the victim and their family. The victim’s family must deal with the burden of having to listen to the case, and never letting their loved one rest in peace.
