For this assignment, I have interviewed an African American woman who is my friend. During the interview, I empathetically understand her cultural beliefs, customs, convention and their experiences. According to Florina (pseudoname), Her culture does not take health and disease seriously until the situation deteriorates. She explained that other views African Americans are not prone to illness and do not require medical services. She believes that having mental health issues and seeking counseling from any mental health practitioner is an indication of personal weakness.
