Q Week 7 - Chapter 12 Discussion Question:
What are examples of orientation experiences you have had as a new hire that have been particularly effective (or ineffective) in helping to make the person/job match happen?
An example of an orientation experience that I had in my previous office (when I worked as an HR) that has been particularly effective in helping to make a new hire/job match happen is that whenever I opened hirings, I considered making an agenda to know and understand the fact that why the new hiring needs and what do we expect from a new hire? Then I considered the fact of how I will train a new hire, how I will judge his/her experience, and how I will give him/her a start/ push to handle the job position initially. This is because whatever you expect from a new hire can only be attained if you explain and train the new hire according to your expectations and give him/her enough time and energy to understand the expectations that are associated with him during the probation/ training period.
