Sunk-cost bias can be avoided by leaders by ensuring that feedback is obtained from the team members by the leader. In this way, there can be team members satisfied that the leader is at least trying to make amendments in the process of leadership by conducting self-analyzing techniques. When leaders consider them to be like owners and do not empathize with followers, there can be development of consequential results (Hitt et al., 2018).
