This week, we covered the corrections system, life in prison, mental illness in jail, women in prison, and the death penalty. All of them are essential parts of the criminal justice system. Mental illness in prison is one of the common phenomena in the country. The reasons behind the mental illness are serious, and they should be addressed accordingly. It is related to my professional life as I want to become an expert in the criminal justice system. Violence in jails and prisons might exacerbate pre-existing mental health issues or even lead to the development of post-traumatic stress symptoms, including worry and melancholy.
