The minorities played important role in the Second World War in helping in the war front as well as at home. The minorities, whether women, African Americans, or Mexican Americans played important role in the Second World War. When the war started all the men were mobilized into the war and therefore, there was vacancy for the jobs left by the male which was filled by women of the United States. The nations started mobilization of women power to a great extent and in this the OWI publications helped by encouraging women to go to work (Foner, 865). In fact, Hollywood films started glorifying the independent women and advertisers started celebrating the achievement of female industrial laborer name Rosie the Riveter in a magazine where she was present as muscular and self reliant woman (Foner, 865).
