Gelmon et al. (2018) used semi-structured interviews to collect data in their study of the challenges of the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model and strategies that can help address them. The authors aimed to measure patients’ and providers’ attitudes toward PCMHs, and semi-structured interviews with patients, clinicians, and administrators were deemed an appropriate data collection method. Importantly, according to the authors, “all interviews were de-identified and transcribed” (Gelmon et al., 2018, p. 336).
