The word infidelity might mean different things to different people and can affect different people in different ways, but the focal point is always the same thing, the feeling of betrayal by the affected person. Thornton and Nagurney (2011), in their article defines infidelity as activities which could be “having an affair, extramarital relationship, cheating, sexual intercourse, oral sex, kissing, fondling, emotional connections that are beyond friendships, friendships, internet relationships, and pornography use, among others, and has been defined as involvement in romantic relationships outside of one’s active committed relationship which result in a sense of relational betrayal”.
