Week 4-Discussion 2
Q Week 4 - Chapter 7 Discussion Question:
What information does a selection decision maker need to collect in making staffing decisions? What are the ways in which this information can be collected?
The selection decision-maker has to make important decisions regarding the eligibility of the candidates applying for a particular job. They also need to consider the skills and expertise of these candidates to decide their suitability for the job. For this purpose, the decision-makers should have sufficient information to make well-informed decisions. The information set might include the candidate's educational background, work experience, any specialized skill or qualification, and technical expertise that could bring value to the organization. In addition to that, information about the social background and conduct of a candidate could also prove beneficial to the decision-maker (Heneman et al., 2003).
