Middleman minorities, as defined by Chapter 2 of the textbook, fall between the dominant majority and the minority groups in each culture. As the textbook primarily focuses on Jewish and Korean intermediary’s minority in the United States, other groups with similar traits can be found. Indian Americans are an example of a group in the United States that displays the qualities of what has been referred to as a middleman minority. Because of their relatively high levels of education and income, as well as the fact that they frequently hold positions in the professional and entrepreneurial arenas, Indian Americans occupy a special place in the United States of America.
