There have been many attempts to understand the overall nature of illicit drug abuse and the addictions that can be traced with the studies of various centuries and the social attitudes that are available or dominant for that very time. Over the years, the drug abuse research has increased and the media also has played a major role in identifying the roles of the drug use. Media can be considered to be biased in most of the eras when it comes to use of drugs.
