I think that the effect of Aswany’s narrative style on the reader/audience in The Yacoubian Building is that the stark reality is highlighted. There had been focus on destruction of other countries and defending the inhabitants of gulf countries. It is important to comprehend the helpless situation of the inhabitants of the gulf countries.
