Q Research Paper: Your research paper will examine an assigned artist. Your research may include and draw upon the writings of historians and critics; mentors; source material; and inspirations that have influenced the artist’s development. Your group project will also explore the impact the artist has had on others within the fine arts including any cross-disciplinary collaborations. Each team member will research and write a paper about one section of the outline below. Presentation: Your presentation should include but does not need to be limited to video clips, photos, slides and questions for class discussions (be creative with your presentations). Each group member will present their own area of research. Each team will have ~20 minutes for their presentation. Each student will submit their own paper and section of research on Canvas. You will be graded individually on your paper and your portion of the presentation. Areas of Research - Each Group Member will choose ONE of these: 1. A biography of the artist’s career. Include your own thoughts and observations about their career. 2. Discussion of artists, philosophers and/or teachers who were influential in the development of the artist and how. 3. A description of his/her working philosophy and style using a minimum of three pieces to illustrate your analysis. Include the elements of visual art and principles of design in your discussion. 4. Discuss how the artist’s work has impacted fine arts in general and include any specific collaborative artistic partnerships - especially cross-disciplinary.
