Physical symbols: Physical symbols are small gestures that help people to convey a certain emotion or feeling by not engaging in any kind of verbal communication. In the company where I work, physical gestures like nodding are very commonly used. When someone nods while listening, it gives the speaker a sense that he is being heard and it assures the speaker that his words are valuable. When a senior employee advices a junior employee about any work and he nods while listening, it helps to create a bond between them from which both of them get benefitted.
