Q Directions The Report Back assignment allows you to gather information about concepts that we are discussing during the unit and test them out in the real world! As you report your results, please do not indicate full names. For each unit Report Back: 1. Respond with your answers to this unit's Report Back questions. 2. Ask five adult volunteers this unit's Report Back questions. Using only adult volunteers adds standardization to this activity. 3. Report back on your results. 4. Briefly summarize your observations. Include in your summary, how many of your respondents behaved as predicted. 5. After Thursday, check back and add at least one posting to summarize or to discuss the responses. Report Back This Unit Personal Personality Theory Whether we realize it or not, we carry around attitudes and assumptions about the way people are (implicit personality theories). The purpose of this activity is to examine implicit assumptions about people and personality. Ask five individuals to respond to the following questions 1. Which influences our personality more, Nature or Nurture? 2. Are people basically helpful (altruistic) or selfish? 3. Are people motivated more by rewards or punishments? 4. Are individuals more similar to each other or more different to each other? 5. Is there a purpose for life? 6. Where's the emphasis in our lives, the past, the present, or the future? Remember to ask for additional comments or reasons behind their decisions. Your role is just to record their responses, not to persuade the individuals to adopt another view!
