Unit 3 Project Topic A

Q Introduction The course project is a series of elements where students will examine an organization's current compensation and benefits system. Students selected an organization and training topic in Unit 1 (ungraded but subject to approval) and will submit different elements in Units 3, 5, and 6. In the final component of the training program, students will provide recommendations to the organization on how the compensation program can be improved. Students will compile this work and submit the completed plan and recommendations in Unit 8. Directions Analyze the current state of the compensation system and address the existing pay structure used. Reference should be made to the job-based and person-based structure. Analysis should reference sources of information for job analysis, job evaluation, pay design, and pay levels. Submission Requirements • The body of the paper must be 4-5 pages—this does not include extraneous pages like the title page, reference page, and appendices. • A minimum of 5 scholarly resources is required. Course materials and personal experience do not count. An example of a scholarly resource can be an interview with an HR professional or a peer-reviewed article from a Park University Library Journal Database. • A formal, third-person tone is required. • Supplemental information (e.g., worksheets that are currently being used) can be presented in Appendices but does not count toward the body of the paper. • APA formatting standards are required. Note: Recommendations should not be made at this point— this is an analysis of current standing. However, if an organization does not have a set structure, the paper does not end at that point. Students need to include a discussion of the different methods that could be used. Again, recommendations will be made in Unit 8. Due Date • by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, CT.
