It was observed that 1.6 million Texans turned out for the Constitutional amendment election. It was related to a couple of issues of interest to ordinary voters which included an attempt to decrease the property taxes for homeowners, a plan to spend more on the development of highways and transportation by up to $5 billion and put an end to the need that statewide elected officials live in the state capital. Each of the seven proposals on that ballot passed easily. Most of the voters of Texas did not care about it (Ramsey, 2017). The 2019 election only attracted 101 million voters.
