Q Session 4 - The Frontier
Why was the "passing of the frontier" in 1890 disturbing to many? How and why was the frontier important as an idea as well as a particular place?
The passing of the Frontier was not thoroughly accepted by the American people as many of them felt disturbed. It allowed the America to expand its territory towards the west. It pushed the western territories to go beyond the existing lines. During the westward expansion, the regions consisted of 1000 square miles. This led to greedy and irresponsible behavior which caused tension (Lecture session 4).
