Q Do you think SES inequalities harm education? Do you think it harms music education? Do you think it's as big of a problem as people make it out to be? What strategies can you incorporate in your classroom to close the gap?
As per the definition, Socio economic status means “the relative position of individuals, families, or groups in stratified social systems where some societal values are not uniformly distributed.” Those schools with SES can barely afford proper equipment and as a result, music education quality becomes lower to a great extent compared to those schools with all facilities. This also affects the assessment process as the student from SES barely gets to know about the good instruments and as a result, their learning process becomes slow. They must be judged keeping various parameters in mind.
