The main reason of conflict in the Iliad between Agamemnon and Achilles was caused from the hubris or may be from unnecessary conceit of the main character Achilles. But what happens in the conflict is quite unfortunate and that is Achilles leaves the battle and completely refuses to fight back. This situation basically developed just because Agamemnon seems to set forth a demand that he have Achilles war Prize that is, the lovely maiden Briseis. Later, it was found that the demand injures the pride of the great Achilles, who further called for the Greek Army leaders to encounter upon and convince Agamemnon for giving permission to Chryseis to leave ("Book IX", 2019).
