Among the many theories of human motivation and needs, one of the most known and cited is Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. This five model theory is constructed in a hierarchical manner with the physiological needs forming the most important needs. Then comes the safety and security needs, followed by intimacy needs, achievement needs and lastly self-actualization needs. As one need is met the individual moves on to the next need. However, it is not necessary for a need to be met 100% for the next need to arise.
