For each section, develop well written paragraphs that will become the building blocks of your profile. 3. Write in the 3rd person. 4. Write in the journalistic style of the profiles we studied in class. 5. Use detailed, descriptive writing. 6. Show, don’t tell! 7. Reference your notes from the last assignment. 8. Do your best but don’t stress. We will do guided revisions in class to further develop your work. This is just the start. 9. When the table is complete, save it as a PDF or Word.doc to upload to Bb for a grade and feedback. 10. As always, email me if you have any questions. Theme: Write 1-3 sentences that introduce or summarize the theme(s) or main idea(s) you might explore in your profile. If you are not sure yet, jot down some ideas here and return to the theme later. Nut Graph: Write a paragraph that includes the basics (Who, What, When, Where, Why + How). This paragraph focuses on the key info that your reader should know about the profile subject (as related to your theme). Background (childhood/ family): Write at least one paragraph about your subject’s childhood and family background. Background Anecdote: Can you find an anecdote that illustrates something important about your subject’s early childhood? Try to write it as a scene (imagine you are a fly on the wall watching the scene unfold in real time, describe what you see). Background (professional/ talent/ special interest): Write a paragraph on your subject’s professional/ talent/ special interest background.
