Olympics

Q This discussion is worth 20 points. Answer with knowledge and references from the text or outside articles I am watching the same people win medals and thinking about other sports. 1. Is Competitive Balance gone from the Olympics? 2. Finally, an olympic sport for the poor, skate boarding. Most olympic sports require expensive equiptment and expensive facilities for training. Explain how the costs of training acts as a barrier to competion in most sports. You can do this by picking a sport and trying to price what they need to train for the Olympics. 3. The Presidents have term limits. What about Olympic athletes . Don't let people compete in more than 2 Olympics. 4.I also would like to see the minimum age of competitors raised to 19. Does a 14 year old really have free choice? Did she/he really want to give up a normal childhood to "train" Each discussion question should be backed by at least one reference from either the text or an article from the Internet. Be sure to post the reference as well as the discussion. Each discussion has a due date. Be sure to complete your post before the due date.

1. After the 1992 Olympics, the competitive balance has been altered and no improvement has been seen in countries having less opportunity for sport-related activities (Zheng, Dickson, Oh, & De Bosscher, 2019). More medals are won by those nations who have better facilities and resources and a better record of winning. Also, due to lack of training and strategy athletes belonging to economically lower countries could not compete with winning players. 2. Olympic sports need highly trained coaches who train the athletes. A huge amount of money and resources are applied to train the sportsperson. Most of the sports are expensive and create barriers for economically weaker athletes to get a chance to play at the Olympic Games. Also, due to the lack of government support of their respective countries, they failed to fulfill their dreams.
