In the fourth Gospel Jesus is both the “Lamb of God” (John 1:29) and the “Good Shepherd” (John 10:11). Which metaphor for Jesus do you like better and why?
Hi Professor & Classmates, The Lamb of God motif in John 1:29 and 1:36 has been explained in various ways by biblical students. The majority of students think 'amnos' refers to the Passover lamb. The context of the Fourth Gospel does not provide this explanation. To understand the metaphor of God's 'lamb' or 'amnos,' one must first understand the parent or photograph's transferrable meaning. Just the vehicle, namely the lamb, is mentioned in this examination. The identity of the lamb remained a mystery. It might be anything from the realm of alternate story components with lamb-like characteristics.
