Q In this activity, you will have the opportunity to analyze an informational report and describe how it does—or does not—fit the characteristics of informational reports. Because it’s important to understand what informational reports are and what they should include, you should complete your Module Readings and review both Module Notes pages before completing this exercise. Instructions As you have learned this week, informational reports can take many different forms; however, they all have certain defining characteristics. Your goal in this activity is to analyze a report and identify what characteristics of informational reports it exemplifies. John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Step 2: Analyze the Report Examine the report carefully and consider the following questions: • Is it an informational report? How do you know? • How is the report structured? • Are there any recommendations? Does it feel at all persuasive? Consider the various aspects of informational reports you’ve learned about this week and think about the effectiveness of the sample report based on what you know. In total, whether written or spoken, your initial response should not exceed 150 words. Step 4: Respond to Your Classmates Review the posts of at least two classmates and respond with brief posts of no more than 50 words each (two to three sentences). Do you agree with your classmate’s assessment of the type of report that was described? Why or why not?
