Q Discussion Topic
We looked at two portraits of the death of Jesus (in the Gospels of Mark and John). Which one speaks better to American culture today? Why?
With the Gospels of Mark and John, there was not much difference in narrative of Jesus death to prefer for better acceptable narrative. It seems John narrative was little more descriptive and incidence oriented than Mark Gospels. The story was same about signs of end time, last supper, Peter’s Denial, crucifixion of Jesus, death of Jesus and burial of Jesus were same. Although the story was same, but narration of these story was different. In Mark Gospels each story plotted word by word without any twisting or detailing about the judgment about Jesus. It describes step by step toward the end of story. But in John plotting of Jesus death was described all the environment, conversation, and logic towards the judgment of Jesus.
