Q Q. Explain why old methods of food preservation (liberal use of salt or sugar and drying) were effective. What limitations are there to these methods and why?
As the old methods of food preservations, we usually used salt and sugar which were the most conventional methods for the food preservations. Sugar and salts are mixed together to form a dry mixture which mainly covers the food and also they are mixed in liquid foods to make a brine solution which best works in preventing the freshness and taste of the fish and meat and many other foods (Oluwalana, 2018).
